Snap Card Game

Objective

The objective is to win every card. Build face-up piles by taking turns flipping cards. When the top cards match by rank, call Snap before the computer to collect both piles.

Setup and Play Area

• Snap uses one standard 52-card deck with no jokers.
• The deck is split into two face-down piles, one for you and one for the computer.
• Each player flips from their own face-down pile onto a separate face-up pile.
• If a player runs out of face-down cards, their face-up pile is turned back over so play can continue.

Available Moves

• Flip the top card from your face-down pile.
• Watch both visible face-up cards after every flip.
• Call Snap when the two top face-up cards have the same rank.
• Win both face-up piles after a correct Snap.
• Avoid calling Snap on non-matching ranks because false Snap calls carry a penalty.

Snap Card Game Strategy

• Keep your attention on the two top face-up cards, not the full piles.
• React quickly when ranks match, especially after the computer flips.
• Do not tap Snap unless the ranks match. A false Snap gives away your face-up pile.
• Use undo while learning the rhythm of the digital version.
• Expect swings because a single Snap can move a large face-up pile.

Variants

• Traditional Snap can support more than two players. CardGamesHQ starts with a two-player computer version so the action stays readable on mobile.
• Some table rules use a Snap Pot when two players call Snap at the same time. This digital version resolves the race by first response.
• Some groups match exact cards or colors. This version uses the standard same-rank match.
